Intentions yield to awe

as clouds paint granite

sun leisurely strolls

a water’s edge

and smooth black beings hover

in cupped hands of banks

hoovering summer algae

infancy of jovial plumpness

flightish instincts

wiggly tails propelling

quick in settling back to feast

sleek bodies dotting

like a wishing well

unknowingly endangered

no hint of legs or spots

or frozen pond of winter
fish flying from planes

and climate change

foes more worthy than the natural

as mud mortars creases of my knees

grass peaks out between digits

tucking hair behind my ear

treasured memories of a little girl

          Oh precious beings

         Oh precious world
