My first word was “dog”. My first sentence was “fish eat frog”. I’ve always gravitated towards animals, wild things, and wild places.  It’s been a constant passion in my life. Traditional to most poets I played professional beach volleyball, worked several years as a firefighter in the inner city of Long Beach(aka rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg’s home town), and then worked over a decade in a busy underserved emergency department. The vast majority of my literary training comes from my bearded, Harley riding, 2nd grade teacher who told me to “keep writing”. All of my images are taken with an iPhone charactered with more cracks and scratches than the loser in a shady barroom brawl. Despite all this, thru nature’s unbelievably inspirational character and beauty I am able to create. ”To Nature, with love” is my Thank You to the wild spaces I seek to protect.
