Neighbor lady

Pants. Shirt. One sock. Then the other
Shoes now while balancing
Ask the dogs if they will be good today
And then all us are stretching
To the sky. To the ground
Reaching back. Chest wall opening
A walk outside. Stars still here
Night time air so giving
A call to dogs. Come outside
And then the squak....a questioning
Black on white. White on red
One head resting on the other
High in the tree out in front
Thru a hole where they raised babies
In their voice they make sure I know
The sun is not yet rising
Sleeping together in their home
and I’m their neighbor lady
